How do you determine which seeds to sow where?

By seeing which wildflowers grow naturally in an area and choosing the “showier” ones. We check out soil, drainage, exposure, rainfall amount; visibility of the site; showiness of plants (color, height, bloom size, etc.); existing vegetation (aggressive weeds should be removed), donor wishes; budget, and availability of seed.
